Actor and composer G.V. Prakash Kumar has been lauded for his exceptional commitment to the upcoming thriller drama ‘Blackmail’. The film’s producer, Jeyakodi Amalraj, revealed that Prakash voluntarily accepted only half of his remuneration to help ensure the film’s completion.Speaking at the audio launch of ‘Blackmail’, Amalraj expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the actor. He explained that with eight days of shooting still pending, financial constraints threatened to halt production. “It was G.V. Prakash who stood by us and made it possible,” Amalraj stated.
“These days, we often hear of actors demanding full payment before stepping on set. But G.V. Prakash has only taken 50% of his pay,” Amalraj detailed. “I told him, ‘This is all I have left. If you waive the rest, I can finish and release the film.’ Without a moment’s hesitation, he agreed.”
Prakash not only completed the remaining shoot without demanding the full payment but also finished his dubbing and attended the audio launch, showcasing his dedication. Amalraj affirmed, “I will always remain indebted to him.”
Directed by Mu Maran, known for the acclaimed thriller ‘Iravukku Aayiram Kangal’, ‘Blackmail’ stars G.V. Prakash alongside Teju Ashwini and an ensemble cast including Srikanth and Bindhu Madhavi. The film is slated for a worldwide release on August 1.
