MEMU services to be cancelled from July 19-22

Southern Railway has announced the cancellation and partial cancellation of several Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) services between July 19 and July 22, 2025, to facilitate scheduled engineering works. These works are essential for safety, maintenance upgrades, and improving operational efficiency.
Cancellations on July 19 and 22:
On both July 19 and July 22, a line block and power block will be in effect from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Perani Yard, situated between Chennai Egmore and Villupuram. As a result:
 * Train 66045 Tambaram-Villupuram MEMU passenger, scheduled to depart Tambaram at 9:45 AM, will be partially cancelled between Tindivanam and Villupuram.
 * Train 66046 Villupuram-Chennai Beach MEMU passenger, departing Villupuram at 1:40 PM, will be partially cancelled between Villupuram and Tindivanam.
Cancellations on July 21:
On July 21, a temporary line and power block will be implemented between Pachchakuppam and Melpatti railway stations in the Arakkonam–Jolarpettai section. This block will run from 10:20 AM to 1:40 PM, lasting 3 hours and 20 minutes. Due to this, the following two MEMU passenger services will be fully cancelled for the day:
 * Train 66017 Katpadi to Jolarpettai MEMU passenger, scheduled to depart Katpadi at 10:30 AM.
 * Train 66018 Jolarpettai to Katpadi MEMU passenger, scheduled to depart Jolarpettai at 12:55 PM.
Passengers are advised to take note of these changes in train schedules.
