Modi pays tribute to Kamarajar in Tamil

New Delhi, July 15: On the birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Kamaraj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute in Tamil, acknowledging Kamaraj’s invaluable contributions to the nation both during and after the independence movement.
Taking to social media, Prime Minister Modi wrote in Tamil:
“On Kamarajar’s birth anniversary, I pay my respects to him. He was at the forefront of India’s freedom struggle and later offered priceless leadership during the crucial years of our nation’s post-independence development. His lofty ideals and unwavering commitment to social justice continue to inspire us all,” the Prime Minister stated.
Kamaraj, fondly known as the “Kingmaker” in Indian politics, remains a respected figure for his integrity, simplicity, and progressive governance.
Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also issued a statement honouring the Bharat Ratna awardee.
He described Kamaraj as one of the tallest leaders of the freedom movement and a tireless warrior for social justice.
“His visionary mid-day meal scheme broke barriers and made education accessible to the underprivileged. His transformative impact on nation-building has left an indelible mark on India’s developmental journey,” Kharge noted.
Leaders across political lines continue to remember Kamaraj for his selfless service, administrative acumen, and commitment to uplifting the underprivileged, especially through educational reforms and poverty alleviation.
