Gold prices slightly increase in Chennai

Gold prices in Chennai experienced a modest increase today, while silver rates held steady for the sixth consecutive day. The fluctuation in gold prices continues to be observed in the market.

According to reports, a gram of 22-carat gold rose by 20 rupees, reaching 9,020 rupees. This upward movement means that a sovereign (8 grams) of gold now costs 72,160 rupees, reflecting an increase of 160 rupees. This modest rise follows a decrease of 480 rupees per sovereign on the previous day, when gold was sold at 72,000 rupees.

Earlier in the week, gold prices saw a 400 rupee drop per sovereign on Monday, followed by a 400 rupee increase on Tuesday, indicating a period of volatility.
In contrast, silver prices have remained unchanged for nearly a week, offering a period of stability for those tracking the white metal. A gram of silver is currently priced at 120 rupees, with a bar (kilogram) of silver retailing for 120,000 rupees.
