Chennai, June 28:
The National Association for the Blind – Tamil Nadu State Branch (NAB-TNSB) celebrated Helen Keller Day on June 27, 2025, at Hotel Savera, Chennai. The event honoured three dedicated special educators — Mr. Francis Sebastian (Physical Education), Mrs. Kalaiselvi, and Mr. Suthakar (Special Education) — for their exceptional service.
An accessible website, www.nabtamilnadu.org, was launched to promote digital inclusion. The occasion also recognized academic excellence by felicitating six higher secondary rank holders from special schools, including Deepashree (574/600) and Nivetha (564/600) from Little Flower Convent.
Dr. Shruthi, Director of M.N. Eye Hospital, was the chief guest. The celebration marked 64 years of NAB-TNSB’s service, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive education, empowerment, and advocacy for the visually impaired.
