Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran on Friday expressed deep concern over the sudden death of Dhanush, a Dalit IT professional from Coimbatore, found hanging on the rooftop of his girlfriend’s house in Kulasekaram, Kanyakumari district. Dhanush was reportedly in a relationship with a woman from a different religion, raising suspicion among local communities and political observers.
Speaking out, Nainar emphasized reservations because of the unusual circumstances. “It is unimaginable that a well-educated youth with a promising career would choose to take his own life at his partner’s residence,” he said. He demanded an impartial and thorough investigation, free from political bias, citing possible interference as the woman’s family is allegedly linked to the ruling DMK party.
Nagendran further warned that Tamil Nadu’s law-and-order climate is deteriorating, with increasing violence against Scheduled Castes under the current government. He urged the state police to conduct a meticulous post-mortem and investigation, undeterred by political influence. “This case tests whether justice remains blind to power,” he added, pledging full support from BJP to the family of the deceased.
