PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss has accused the ruling DMK government of trying to create a split between him and his father, Dr. S. Ramadoss, the founder of PMK. Speaking at the party’s general council meeting in Kancheepuram, Anbumani said the DMK was attempting to break the unity of the PMK by spreading rumours and interfering in internal matters.
He claimed the DMK fears losing support from the Vanniyar community, a strong base for the PMK, and is trying to weaken the party before the 2026 elections. Anbumani said this was a diversionary tactic to cover up the DMK government’s failures, especially in fulfilling promises made to the Vanniyar people, like the sub-quota reservation.
Anbumani also warned that some members within PMK were helping the DMK and were part of this conspiracy. He said their names would be revealed soon and promised action against them.
He criticised the DMK’s poor handling of public health services, pointing to an incident in Tiruppur, where a hospital worker was seen treating patients in unhygienic conditions. He said the government is more focused on media campaigns than solving real issues like shortage of doctors and medical staff.
Anbumani ended his speech by calling on party members to stay united and work for the people, saying that PMK will fight strongly in the upcoming elections to protect its identity and serve the public.
