An old bridge collapsed in Pune on Sunday during heavy rain. Four people died and 51 were injured. Around 125 tourists were standing on the bridge to watch the rising Indrayani river. The bridge was 30 years old and already closed for vehicles due to poor condition. But many people still gathered on it. The weight and strong water flow caused the bridge to fall.
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis announced ₹5 lakh for each victim’s family. The injured are in city hospitals.
