Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has criticised the BCCI for leaving out Shreyas Iyer from the Test squad against England. He said Iyer deserved a place in the team based on his recent form. Shreyas Iyer had a great season. He was the top scorer for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. With senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma missing, many expected Iyer to be picked for the middle-order. “He has been in top form for the past year. He’s playing under pressure, handling short balls well, and taking responsibility,” Ganguly said in an interview with RevSportz. He added, “Test cricket is different, but I would still include him. He’s not a player who should be dropped.” Ganguly believes Iyer could have made a big impact in the England series and said the selectors made a wrong call. @@@@
