Former Governor and senior BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan has dismissed recent remarks made by TVK member Nirmal Kumar, who claimed that there is no alliance between actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and the BJP. Addressing the media in Virugambakkam on Sunday, she clarified that no official statement had been issued by Vijay or TVK regarding any political tie-up.
Tamilisai emphasized that the BJP’s national leadership is responsible for alliance decisions, and any speculation at this stage is premature. “We are currently in a political phase where all forces opposing the DMK must come together. The BJP central command will determine future alliances,” she noted. Responding to DMK leader RS Bharathi’s comments on the AIADMK-BJP alliance, she questioned the legitimacy of DMK’s ties with the Congress.
“You align with the very party that ordered violence against Tamils in Sri Lanka and jailed Stalin during the Emergency. What moral ground do you have?” she asked.
