AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) strongly criticized the DMK government and his former party rival O. Panneerselvam (OPS) during a public meeting in Theni, held to mark former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s birth anniversary.
EPS accused Chief Minister M.K. Stalin of neglecting Theni district, claiming that no new projects had been introduced in the past four years. He also criticized Stalin for focusing more on photo shoots than governance and condemned the rising crimes against women in Tamil Nadu, questioning the safety of women under the DMK’s rule.
Targeting OPS, EPS accused him of betraying the AIADMK after failing to secure the Chief Minister’s post following Jayalalithaa’s demise. He alleged that OPS supported the DMK in bringing down the AIADMK government, attempted to freeze the party’s “Two Leaves” symbol, and was responsible for sealing the party headquarters.
He described AIADMK as a “ship that would reach the shore,” warning that those who abandoned it, like OPS, would be lost at sea.
