The State Transport Department has granted permission for private operators to run mini-buses in Chennai starting February, as reported by Daily Thanthi.

The new services will operate in areas like Sholinganallur, Alandur, Ambattur, Valasaravakkam, and Manali. While mini-buses are already run by the State Transport Corporation, the decision to allow private operators comes in response to the growing demand for additional bus services.
