Director Mari Selvaraj, known for his impactful films like Vaazhai, has praised Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai Part 2 for its portrayal of passionate political themes. In a post on X, Mari described the sequel as an “honest work of art” that captures the politics of human and social unity. He also conveyed his love and best wishes to the film’s entire crew. Viduthalai Part 2, which follows Vijay Sethupathi’s character, explores his transformation from a teacher to a leader on a violent path, eventually seeking peace.

Besides Vijay Sethupathi, the film also stars Kishore, Manju Warrier, Soori, Rajiv Menon, Chetan, Ilavarasu, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, among others. It has music by Ilaiyaraaja, as well as cinematography by R Velraj, including multiple overhead shots in hilly areas.
