Kathmandu, Aug 13:  Nepal’s cricket team is set to train at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for two weeks as they prepare for the upcoming Cricket World Cup League 2 series in Canada. This preparation comes ahead of a tri-series involving Oman.

Currently positioned sixth in the League 2 table, the Nepali squad will fine-tune their skills and strategies at the NCA before heading to Canada. The Cricket Association of Nepal announced the training stint via their official X page, expressing their optimism: “Rhinos are off to India to gear up for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 Preparation Series! Training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for two weeks will sharpen our players’ skills and strategies. Let’s wish them all the best!”

Notable players, including captain Rohit Paudel, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Sandeep Lamichhane, have recently participated in Canada’s Global T20 league.

Previously, Nepal engaged in a series of training matches in India against Gujarat and Baroda in Vapi before heading to the T20 World Cup 2024 in the Americas.

The Rhinos aim to secure a top-four finish in the League 2 standings by December 2026 to qualify for the CWC Qualifier. A lower finish would require them to compete in the CWC Qualifier Play-off, from which the top four teams will advance to the CWC Qualifier.
