After participating in a palm seed planting event, Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai addressed the media, where he voiced strong opinions on various topics, including the Hindenburg Research firm and the actions of the Tamil Nadu government.Annamalai accused Hindenburg Research of profiting in the stock market through unethical practices. He described the firm as a “short-selling agent” that intentionally spreads fear among investors to drive down stock prices, allowing it to earn thousands of crores in profit. He claimed that Hindenburg targets major global companies to achieve its financial goals. Regarding the allegations made by Hindenburg against the SEBI chairman, Annamalai stated that if the accusations hold any truth, the government would take appropriate action. He dismissed Hindenburg’s accusations, suggesting that the firm is simply retaliating against SEBI’s notices. He firmly stated that India does not need companies like Hindenburg to “teach us lessons.”
In addition to his comments on Hindenburg, Annamalai criticized the Tamil Nadu government for its actions regarding the BJP’s national flag awareness campaign. He mentioned that Prime Minister Modi had requested citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes, which has become a social movement over the past three years. To raise awareness in Tamil Nadu, the BJP organized a bike rally, which is being held across the country. However, Annamalai expressed his disappointment that permission for the rally was denied in Tiruppur.
He argued that the ruling DMK has an issue with the national flag itself, as the rally, which was supposed to be apolitical, was denied permission under the guise of law and order concerns. Annamalai urged Chief Minister Stalin and the DMK to conduct a national flag rally themselves, arguing that they have an obligation to uphold the Constitution of India.
