Moderate rainfall, strong winds expected in TN until 11 Aug

The Chennai Meteorological Center has forecasted moderate rainfall accompanied by strong surface winds for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until August 11.
According to the report, an atmospheric low-pressure system is currently present over the lower levels of the atmosphere in parts of Tamil Nadu. This has resulted in widespread rainfall across various regions of the state.
The forecast indicates that several areas in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will experience moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning until August 11, with wind speeds reaching up to 40 km/h. Following this, moderate rainfall is expected to continue in isolated areas until August 13.
For Chennai and its suburban areas, the sky is expected to remain mostly cloudy over the next two days, with chances of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.
The report also warns that regions including the Gulf of Mannar, coastal areas of southern Tamil Nadu, and areas surrounding the Kanyakumari Sea are likely to experience cyclonic winds with speeds reaching up to 45 km/h until August 11. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas during this period.
