Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has extended his heartfelt condolences and support to the families affected by the devastating landslide in Wayanad, Kerala. In a social media post on Tuesday, CM Stalin expressed his grief over the tragedy and offered assistance to the neighboring state.
“Deeply pained to learn about the massive landslides in Wayanad and the consequent loss of priceless lives. I am given to understand that many people are still trapped in the area. I am sure the rescue operations that are in full swing will save them all. The government of Tamil Nadu is willing to extend any logistical or manpower support that may be needed in this hour of crisis to our brother state Kerala,” CM Stalin said in an X post.
The landslide, which struck the hilly district of Wayanad, has caused widespread devastation in the hamlets of Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha. Unofficial reports estimate over 30 deaths as of 10 am, with fears that the toll could rise as many people remain trapped under the debris of mud, trees, and boulders.
