Passengers using the Chennai Metro Rail faced significant inconvenience as a technical glitch disrupted services on Wednesday evening at Chennai Central Metro Rail station.
At approximately 5:10 p.m., a Metro Rail train stationed at Chennai Central encountered a snag, forcing hordes of passengers to wait for about 15 to 20 minutes. Sources reported confusion among passengers who hurried to change platforms in order to catch the next available train.
Officials from the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) clarified that the disruption affected services for a brief period, specifically causing a ten-minute delay between Chennai Central Metro Rail station and Chennai Airport station. However, operations remained unaffected between Chennai Central and St Thomas Mount stations, continuing as scheduled.
“We rectified the technical issue promptly and resumed services as soon as possible,” assured an official from CMRL.
