Raj Bhavan denies Guv’s statement on family deity as fake

Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan has dismissed as fake news a purported statement attributed to Governor RN Ravi regarding the worship of family deities. On Monday, Raj Bhavan issued a statement clarifying that it has filed a formal complaint with the police, seeking a thorough investigation into the dissemination of false information on social media.
According to the statement, Raj Bhavan has asked for appropriate legal action against those responsible for spreading the false statement. The discredited statement allegedly attributed to Governor Ravi suggested that “the festivals in family deity, Nattar Gods, and village temples, which are the root cause of alcohol deaths, should be banned.”
