India has unveiled its 15-player squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the West Indies and the USA. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad on Tuesday, featuring some notable inclusions and omissions.

Among the key inclusions are all-rounders Shivam Dube and Yuzvendra Chahal, who have earned their spots in the squad based on their recent performances. Dube’s explosive batting and handy bowling, along with Chahal’s crafty leg-spin, add depth to the team’s lineup.

Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant have been named as the two wicketkeepers in the squad, providing versatility and firepower behind the stumps. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya has been appointed as the vice-captain to Rohit Sharma, showcasing the team’s trust in his leadership abilities.

The squad features a balanced mix of experienced players and promising youngsters. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah headline the list of seasoned campaigners, while youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Suryakumar Yadav offer youthful exuberance and talent.

In the spin department, the left-arm spin trio of Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav will complement Chahal, providing a variety of options to the team management. However, the selectors have opted for only three frontline pace bowlers in Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh, indicating their reliance on spin-friendly conditions.

The reserves include Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan, offering depth and cover across different positions.

The T20 World Cup is set to commence in the West Indies and the USA, promising an exciting spectacle of cricketing action as teams vie for glory on the global stage.
