MDMK general secretary Vaiko has strongly condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent election campaign speeches, accusing him of spreading hatred against Muslims. Vaiko asserted that Modi’s divisive rhetoric reflects a deep-seated animosity towards the Muslim community.

In a statement, Vaiko criticized the BJP for resorting to religious polarization tactics to sway voters, particularly after realizing a setback following the first phase of polling. He highlighted Modi’s inflammatory remarks made during a campaign event in Rajasthan on April 21, where the Prime Minister allegedly targeted Muslims by claiming that the Congress would redistribute wealth from Hindus to “infiltrators.”

Vaiko noted that Modi’s hate-filled speeches have drawn condemnation from democratic organizations worldwide. Despite widespread criticism and complaints filed with the Election Commission of India, Modi has persisted in delivering divisive speeches aimed at polarizing communities for political gain.

On April 23, Modi continued his vitriol, alleging that the Congress manifesto aimed to target Hindus by proposing to X-Ray their wealth and confiscate gold jewels. Additionally, Modi accused the Congress of reducing reservation quotas for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Andhra Pradesh in 2004 and redistributing them to Muslims. He claimed that the Congress sought to extend this policy nationwide, reflecting the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Vaiko condemned Modi’s hate speech, asserting that the Prime Minister’s bias against Muslims is deeply ingrained. Despite the Election Commission’s oversight, Vaiko expressed confidence that the people would deliver a resounding message to Modi through the parliamentary elections.
