T.T.V. Dhinakaran, the founder of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), has vehemently denied accusations of collaborating with the BJP to undermine the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), stating that the party founded by M.G. Ramachandran is weakening in the hands of its current leadership.

Speaking to reporters in Theni, Dhinakaran, who is contesting from the Theni Lok Sabha constituency as part of a BJP alliance, clarified that his alliance with ousted AIADMK leader O. Pannerselvam is aimed at reclaiming the party’s original ethos.

Dhinakaran criticized the current AIADMK leadership, alleging that the party has fallen into the hands of betrayers after granting the general secretary post to V.K. Sasikala and the deputy general secretary position to himself. He asserted that his alliance with Pannerselvam is intended to restore the AIADMK’s integrity and legacy.

Regarding AMMK’s political positioning, Dhinakaran noted a shift in perception, with the party now being viewed as a leading front rather than merely a third front of the AIADMK. He emphasized the growing support for AMMK and its role in representing the true spirit of the AIADMK.

Responding to queries about Sasikala’s potential involvement in his campaign, Dhinakaran clarified that she would not be participating as she identifies herself with the AIADMK.

On the topic of BJP leader K. Annamalai’s controversial remarks regarding anti-Hindi protests, Dhinakaran downplayed the issue, stating that the imposition of Hindi is no longer a significant concern and belongs to the past.
