TN: First DIG for Anti terrorist squad appointed

In a significant development aimed at bolstering counter-terrorism efforts, the Tamil Nadu Home Department has appointed J. Mahesh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Intelligence (Internal Ge Security), as the first Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the state’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). Mahesh will hold this crucial position as an additional charge, according to a communication from the government.Alongside Mahesh’s appointment, Ara. Arularasu, Superintendent of Police of the Special Division, Chennai SB CID, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) at the headquarters of the anti-terrorist squad.Furthermore, V. Sasi Mohan, Superintendent of Police of the Anti-Terrorist Squad in Coimbatore, will assume an additional charge as SP of ATS in Madurai.
