In a proactive move to facilitate the initiation of the Pedestrian Plaza project by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) in Washermanpet, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has unveiled strategic traffic diversions scheduled to be implemented starting this Wednesday. The forthcoming Pedestrian Plaza is set to span from the MC Road-Cemetery Road Junction to the MC Road-GC Road Junction, near the BSNL office.
To ensure the smooth commencement of the project, the GCTP has devised immediate traffic diversions for vehicles traveling from Stanley Subway towards MC Road. These vehicles will be redirected towards TH Road or MS Koil Street, enabling an uninterrupted flow towards their designated destinations. Additionally, vehicles heading from Kummalamman Koil Street or GA Road towards MC Road will undergo rerouting via West Kalmandapam Road and MS Koil Street, facilitating their journeys without disruption.
This traffic management initiative is a strategic measure aimed at streamlining vehicle flow and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the ongoing Pedestrian Plaza work in the specified area. Commuters are strongly advised to plan their routes in advance and adhere to the diversions for a seamless travel experience.
The Pedestrian Plaza project in Washermanpet is a significant urban development initiative by the GCC, with the goal of creating a pedestrian-friendly zone for residents and visitors.
