From today, an exciting three-day winter camp is set to kick off on a pilot basis, aiming to provide students in classes 6 to 9 with hands-on experiences in robotics, coding, theatre, and more. The camps, to be held in key locations such as Chennai, Coimbatore, Thanjavur, and Ramanathapuram, promise a unique blend of education and entertainment. One distinctive feature of the winter camps in Chennai and Kovai is the innovative approach to teaching coding without the need for computers. Students will demonstrate their coding prowess using mobile apps and physical blocks, showcasing the output of their code. This unconventional method aims to make coding accessible and engaging, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills. In Ramanathapuram district, students will delve into the realm of bots and devices, gaining valuable hands-on experience. To further encourage their learning journey, attendees will receive robotic kits, ensuring they can continue exploring and experimenting beyond the duration of the winter camp. An official associated with the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) revealed that the camps are designed to focus on equipping students with diverse skill sets. The objective is to fuel curiosity, unleash their full potential, and create a conducive learning environment that is both educational and enjoyable. Scheduled from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, the winter camps will be conducted in a residential mode, providing students with a holistic learning experience. The selection of participants is based on their interests, ensuring that each student can explore areas that align with their passions and aspirations. Looking ahead, the organizers plan to scale up the initiative based on feedback from both students and teachers. Summer camps are on the horizon, promising to offer an even larger platform for learning, collaboration, and skill development.
