Chennai, Dec 11: In a dramatic turn of events, the residents of Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar (RK Nagar) voiced their frustration and disappointment with their elected representative, DMK MLA J John Ebenezer. The confrontation, captured in a video circulating on social media, sheds light on the growing discontent over the handling of relief efforts in the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung.

In the video, residents of Korukkupet can be seen directly questioning MLA Ebenezer about his conspicuous absence during the flooding crisis. The irate residents demanded explanations for the delayed visit and insisted that he refrain from future visits unless he can address their concerns.

The exchange quickly escalated into a heated argument, with locals expressing their dissatisfaction with the MLA’s response. Shockingly, the situation took a violent turn as residents claimed that they were physically assaulted by supporters of Ebenezer for daring to question his actions.

One victim recounted the ordeal, stating, “We questioned the MLA who came to our area four days after the cyclone. Not expecting such questioning, his supporters pushed us away and attacked us severely. But, without even consoling us, Ebenezer hastily left.” This firsthand account underscores the tense atmosphere and the apparent disregard for public grievances.

This incident is not isolated, as similar discontent is brewing in other constituencies as well. In a parallel scenario, the DMK MLA representing Egmore faced the wrath of public anger over perceived inadequacies in cyclone relief efforts.
