AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami reorganised the party’s IT wing and formed 12 zones with new office-bearers to better its grassroots connectivity. The party has already set up IT wing committees in each booth keeping an eye on elections and Palaniswami is going to review the process with the district secretaries and senior functionaries in charge of the task in Chennai on November 21.
Palaniswami had earlier reorganised the IT wing into five zones. The new zones include Chennai, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Villupuram, Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, Trichy, Thanjavur, Madurai, Virudhunagar and Tirunelveli, aiming at concentration of region-wise issues and public outreach during elections.
