The Tamil Nadu government on Monday declared a holiday on November 13 (Monday), the day next to the Deepavali festival following requests from students, parents, teachers, and government employees since they will be returning to their workplaces and educational institutions after visiting their native places.

Instead of November 13, the government fixed November 18 as the working day.
