The Income Tax raids are on for second consecutive day at the residence and offices of the Tamil Nadu Minister for Public Works Department and Highways EV Velu in Thiruvannamalai and Chennai.
The raids are being conducted following complaints regarding tax evasion, according to I-T sources. Similarly, the I-T sleuths are also conducting searches at realtors of popular real estate promotors including Appasamy Real Estates and Casagrande in Chennai.

Velu is the second notable DMK minister to be under the income tax department’s scrutiny within a month, following DMK MP Jagathrakshakan, whose properties, including educational institutions, were subjected to searches in the initial week of October.
