Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president, K Annamalai, launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK government, accusing it of seeking undue credit for ‘Operation Ajay.’ He claimed that the DMK’s consistent strategy over the past two years has been to do nothing and claim credit for the accomplishments of others. In contrast, Annamalai praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of Indian citizens around the world. He highlighted ‘Operation Ajay,’ which was initiated by PM Modi and spearheaded by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. This operation successfully repatriated 212 Indians, including 21 Tamils from Israel, amid the ongoing conflict caused by Hamas terrorists.
The BJP leader took the opportunity to slam the DMK government for its alleged propensity to take credit for others’ achievements. Annamalai criticised the DMK leaders for their lackluster response to the repatriated passengers at the Chennai airport, insinuating that it was merely a show for political gain.
Annamalai went on to express concerns about the potential misuse of taxpayer funds by the DMK government. He cited the example of ‘Operation Ganga,’ during which the DMK was accused of raising fake bills and inventing new methods to divert public money to party members.
