Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the closing ceremony of BJP state president K Annamalai’s padayatra, En Mann En Makkal, say reports.

The En Mann En Makkal padayatra had momentarily been halted due to Annamalai’s health concerns. However, it was recently announced that the padayatra would resume on 16 October, as Annamalai has been advised to take two weeks of rest for his recovery.

The closing ceremony of this padayatra, to be attended by Prime Minister Modi, signifies the growing importance of the State in the national political landscape.
