Police arrested a man from Kaniyakumari on charges of issuing a bomb threat to Chief Minister MK Stalin’s house. The police later confirmed the threat as hoax. The police arrested Issakimuthu hailing from Kaniyakumari, in connection with the incident. The accused had contacted the police control room over phone.

Investigations revealed that Isakkimuthu was mentally-challenged.  His relatives wee summoned and being enquired.

Meanwhile Chief Minister MK Stalin was in Rameswaram yesterday and took part in fishermen’s conference. He announced a slew of welfare measures for fisherfolk.
