Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief, MK Stalin, wrote to his party cadres in the run-up to the 2024 polls and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was using the central government as a puppet and intimidating opposition parties. He said the BJP showed great pace in disqualifying Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as the Wayanad MP because he asked uncomfortable questions.
“The BJP showed great speed in disqualifying Rahul Gandhi from the Parliament because he keeps on asking questions the BJP has no answers for,” he mentioned.
He wrote Rahul Gandhi made sharp arguments during the no-confidence motion discussion in Parliament. “He talked about the ongoing violence in Manipur. Rahul Gandhi asked about the condition of Bharat Mata in Manipur, a state ruled by BJP which keeps chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ slogans.”
He also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticises the DMK even when he attends programmes in Madhya Pradesh or Andamans.
“The BJP is using the government as its puppet. They use central probe agencies to intimidate parties in opposition-ruled states. DMK is not a movement that will get scared by such intimidation,” he said.
