Chennai: A BJP supporter was arrested by the cyber crime team of the police in Nagapattinam district for alleged defamatory Facebook posts against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, former CM M Karunanidhi and state Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.

The accused identified as Paramanandham (28) hails from Venmanachery Vadapadi area of ​​Nagai district. He allegedly posted obnoxious comments on his (Facebook) page about the DMK leaders. It is also said that he used obscene words and spread misinformation about DMK to others on WhatsApp groups.

The action was taken based on a complaint filed by DMK’s District Adi Dravida Welfare Committee Organizer Jyoti Basu.

Based on the complaint, Keezhaiyur police arrested Paramanand and produced him in the Nagai court. After a medical examination, he was imprisoned.
