Income Tax officials today raided the house and offices of Chandrasekhar, a close friend of former AIADMK minister SP Velumani.

It may be recalled that IT sleuths raided Velumani and Chandrasekhar’s premises a few months ago.

Chandrasekhar is also the publisher of AIADMK’s official organ Namadhu Amma.

Remember the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) raided the residence and offices of former Velumani and his associates in March this year. The senior AIADMK functionary’s residence was earlier raided in August in connection with a complaint registered by DMK’s RS Bharathi and an anti-corruption watchdog Arappor Iyyakkam against the former Minister for allegedly earning disproportionate assets and awarding contracts of Chennai and Coimbatore Corporations to his close associates.
