The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief, Mehbooba Mufti, took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to state that the Sri Lankan economic and political crisis should serve as a wake-up call for India.

She stated that India was being whipped into a communal frenzy and imagined fears since 2014.

The former CM stated that it was treading the same path of hyper-nationalism and religious majoritarianism. All at the cost of disrupting social cohesion and economic security, she added.

The senior political leader took to Twitter and wrote, “What happened in Sri Lanka should serve as a wake-up call.’
