Chennai: Fresh cases in Tamilnadu went down to 40 on Monday compared to 47 cases on Sunday. The State Health department said in its bulletin 49 patients were discharge.

Tamilnadu continued to report zero deaths due to the viral infection.

There were 505 active cases on Monday compared to 514 on Sunday.

The capital city of Chennai (24) continued to report the maximum number of new cases followed by Chengalpet (7). Coimbatore and Kancheepuram reported two new cases.

Till date, a total of 34,54,019 Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the State. Deaths due to Covid-19 continued to be nil. A total of 49 persons were discharged after treatment.

There were a total of 505 active cases in the State with Chennai accounting for 338 followed by Chengalpattu with 60.

The toll continues to remain 38,025 as no fresh fatality was reported in the State.
