Come 10 February, Mahaan starring Vikram and his son Dhruv Vikram is releasing in Amazon Prime. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, it is an intense action drama.

Speaking to News Today, Dhruv Vikram says, ‘I am thrilled to act with a seasoned performer like my dad so early in my career. Learnt a lot working with him. It happens very rarely to be part of a dad’s film for a son in cinema’.

Though I played part of the film, it is absolutely his film. It is more a celebration of his career. His 60th film. Happy tl have been part of it, he adds.

Asked if there is pressure being compared tm his dad, a smiling Dhruv says, ‘As long as they compare me with a splendid performed like him I am happy. Though it is near impossible to surpass him, it keeps me running. Happy to have watched him at very close quarters from a young age and learn a lot’.

Asked which film of his dad that he may be tempting to try remake and play the lead, without a doubt he says, ‘Bheema. A plenty of shades in hia performance ia visible in the film. It is colourful’.

Dhruv says that he wants to be part of good films and quality scripts. At the end of the day, story should be strong, he adds.

To be part of a movie directed by Karthik Subbaraj gave me immense pleasure and confident. It was indeed a great team effort and my dad was there to suggest me tips on the sets, he adds.

Cinema is my passion. I grew up watching movies. And wish I continue the legacy of my father by doing good films, he adds.
