Chennai: Tamilnadu Director General of Police C Sylendra Babu will oversee the Greater Chennai City Police following the hospitalisation of Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal.

Sources said the arrangement will continue till Jiwal is back to work. Jiwal, was on Thursday hospitalised after he complained of chest pain, police sources said. He was presently stable and under observation, they added.

According to police sources, Jiwal complained of chest pain while in office at Vepery here and was rushed to the private hospital on Greams Road here.
