Chennai: In view of the ongoing Covid-19 situation, DMK president M K Stalin has decided to not hold any grand function to mark his swearing in as the Chief Minister.
According to sources, he will take charge at a simple event to be held at the Raj Bhavan. ‘Newly elected MLAs of the DMK would meet tomorrow or the day after and elect Stalin as Chief Minister,’ sources added.
In the Assembly polls, the DMK got a clear edge over the AIADMK as it crossed the magic mark of 118 on its own to form the next government after a gap of ten years, with its allies too faring well.
People from various walks of life, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have greeted Stalin on his party’s spectacular victory.
