Chennai: Rumours are rife that P Jayapradeep, second son of Deputy Chief Minister and AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam is likely to take a plunge in politics.
It is said that he is likely to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections. He had created a flutter by wishing good health and speedy recovery to expelled AIADMK leader VK Sasikala, when she was undergoing treatment recently.
In his post, Jayapradeep wished Sasikala, who was being treated for COVID-19 in Bengaluru, a complete recovery and good health. He went on to state that she should pay attention to ‘virtuous activity’ (aram) in the future and achieve peace of mind. He then issued a clarification in brackets that his message was merely ‘humane’ and not political.
In February 2017, Panneerselvam, revolted against Sasikala, after resigning from the post of Chief Minister.
He had then said that he was compelled to quit the post and humiliated while holding the office.
