Chennai: With farmer protests intensifying across the National capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited Singhu border this morning to inspect arrangements for protesting farmers.

The visit comes a day after he tweeted in support to those taking part in the agitation and their subsequent call for a Bharat Bandh on 8 December.

He wrote, “The AAP would support the Bharat Bandh called by farmer groups on December 8. AAP volunteers too would join hands with farmers in peaceful protests across the country on that day. It’s an appeal to citizens of India to support the farmers”.

The farmers’ protest that has entered into its 12th day, has resulted in the Delhi’s borders with UP and Haryana remaining completely closed.

Meanwhile, the agitation is seeing increased participation from people of other States.

“Farmers, volunteers and politicians have arrived from Tamilnadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra to extend their solidarity. Most of them have come by train”, sources said.

Farmers, who are demanding that the three farm laws be withdrawn, have said that they would occupy toll plazas on 8 December, the day of Bharat Bandh, if their demands are not met. They have also called for a special session of Parliament to repeal the laws.
