Chennai: A total of 1,819 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Tamilnadu, while 12 deaths were reported on Sunday taking the toll to 11,478.

A bulletin issued by the Health department said the total number of positive cases in the State till date stood at 7,58,191.

While the mortality rate has come down significantly, the positive cases in the state reported below 2,000 mark for the third day today and the graph continues to be on the down swing.

A total of 2,520 people were discharged from the hospital, taking the numbers of 7,30,272.

Of the total, 1,819 fresh cases, 1,150 were men and 669 were women. With this 4,57,959 men, 3,00,199 women and 33 transgenders have tested positive till date.
