Kolkata: Five persons were killed after two country boats capsized in a waterbody in Murshidabad on Monday.

According to the police, the bodies of five men, all of whom were residents of Beldanga, were fished out of Dumni waterbody.

The two boats were carrying around 10 people each for Durga idol immersion, they said.

According to an officer, divers were looking if there was anybody else in the water. Police and disaster management department personnel were working together.
