Chennai: The spread of coronavirus has apparently shifted from North Chennai, which was hitherto the hotbed of Covid-19 infections, to places such as Kodambakkam, Teynampet and Anna Nagar.
Since March, Royapuram has been leading with high Covid-19 numbers. Today marked a significant drop in active cases here as it now stands at 1,999.
Kodambakkam, a containment zone, has 2,990 infections, the highest in the city, Teynampet has close to 2,447 cases and Anna Nagar has 2,383 cases.
Other areas such as Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar has 1,898 cases and Tondiarpet has 1,810 active cases.
Manali has the least number of cases with 551 positive patients under treatment. The biggest containments zones: Royapuram and Tondiapet are showing high recovery rate.
