Chennai: Four MLAs and a Minister are not participating in the crucial AIADMK meeting that was held at the party’s Royapettah headquarters in Chennai this morning.

Speaker P Dhanapal had sent show-cause notice to three MLAs – E Rathinasabapathy, V T Kalaiselvan and A Prabhu – for supporting AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran while being part of the AIADMK.  The Supreme Court later stayed the notice.

But these three MLAs have not been invited for today’s crucial meeting, the first after the debacle in the 2019 general elections.

Kunnam MLA R T Ramachandran, who supported MLA Rajan Chellappa in seeking unitary leadership for the AIADMK, has also kept away from the meeting. According to reports, he is away in Kerala for treatment as he has not been keeping well.

Among Ministers, Law Minister C Ve Shanmugam has skipped the meeting stating that he was unwell.
