Chennai: In what seems like a scene straight out of a movie, a team of fake income-tax (I-T) officials raided a house in Korattur and decamped with Rs 3 lakh, 5 kg of silver and property documents from the house.

According to sources, Siva Prakash (63) lived with his family in Korattur. He owns a grocery shop in the area.

In his complaint, he told the police that last evening, four persons had arrived at his house in a car and claimed to be officials from the I-T Department. After ‘seizing’ the valuables, the family members were asked to collect it from the office.

When Siva Prakash had gone to the office, he realised it was a fake team which had conducted the raids.

Subsequently, he lodged a complaint with the Korattur police who are investigating the case.
