Chennai: Kallakurichi Lok Sabha constituency came into existence following the implementation of delimitation of Parliamentary constituencies in 2008.

The constituency comprises of the Rishivandiyam, Sankarapuram, Kallakurichi, Gangavalli, Attur and Yercaud Legislative Assembly segments. AIADMK’s K Kamaraj is the incumbent MP of the constituency.

DMK has announced Gautham Sigamani as their candidate and AIADMK’s alliance party DMDK has fielded the party’s deputy secretary L K Sudhish to battle out in the constituency.

The total number of voters in the constituency is 15,11,972 out of which 6,50,610 are men, 7,61,191 are women and 171 are transpersons.
