ELCOT gets new buildings, CM inaugurates host of development schemes

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday inaugurated through video-conferencing from the Secretariat, the administration and information technology buildings of Electronics Corporation of Tamilnadu Ltd’s (ELCOT’s) special economic zone (SEZ) at Vadapalanji village, Madurai district, built with a total investment of Rs 23 crore, for the IT Department.

For the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, he inaugurated the newly-formed Pugalur revenue circle, with Velayudhapalayam as headquarters. This was formed out of the re-organisation of Karur district’s Manmangalam, Aravakurichi revenue circles.

The event also saw the Chief Minister congratulate Arignar Anna Zoological Park Deputy Director Sudha Raman who participated in the Kalam Summit in New Delhi 28 February. She received the Dr Kalam Innovation in Governance Award on behalf of Vandalur zoo for developing the innovative Tamilnadu Marakalanjiyam app.

Palaniswami released the New Integrated Textile Scheme 2019 book as part of the initiatives undertaken by the Handloom Department. Handloom Minister O S Manian received the first copy.
