Chennai: Tamilnadu Minister Balakrishna Reddy has been awarded three years’ imprisonment in a 1998 stone-pelting case.
The verdict was delivered by a special court hearing cases against MPs and MLAs.
He was Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development in the Tamilnadu Cabinet.
Following the judgement, he loses his Minister post and MLA post with immediate effect.
He cannot contest polls, unless acquitted by a higher court.
